      Hi there,

It’s oil that has not been processed – oil in its natural structure, raw oil 😉

      Hi there Kassandra

Basically, crude oil is the petroleum as it is found beneath the Earth’s surface, before we treat it in order to extract all the impurities and separate the bits we need.

The oil you don’t invite into your home. lol
Crude oil is naturally occurring, amde of hydrogen and carbon and is the unprocessed version of fuel for cars and other materials.

Crude oil is a mixture of hydrocarbons – from almost solid to gaseous. These were produced when tiny plants and animals decayed under layers of sand and mud millions of years ago.

Crude oil is the thick black liquid that we dig out of the ground and is full of energy in the form of hydrocarbons. It’s used to make petrol and diesel that make cars run, but it can also be used to make things like wax, grease, and plastic, so it’s really useful.

Oil is formed naturally over millions of years from dead plants and animals. The more we use the less we have and is sometimes called black gold because of how precious it is to us. You may have head your parents complaining about the price of petrol when they go to the petrol station as the less we have of something, general the more expensive it becomes. You may also have heard about the oil spill off the Miami coast in America and how oil leaking into the ocean is having massive environmental impacts on the local ecosystem, and it’s also affecting businesses and people who live in the area. A lot of people are saying the boss of BP should have put more effort into sorting the spill out sooner, just like Robert Green should have been concentrating more instead of letting the goal in when England played USA the other day.
