      Hi there,

All vertebrates have backbones – I’d say there are there to protect your spinal cord? 🙂

Well years ago the concept was thought off and checked by completing an autopsy on the mammal. In other words we cut a few creatures open and took a look

Cos they wouldn’t be mammals if they didn’t!!

      Also…..
The toe bone’s connected to the foot bone,
The foot bone’s connected to the ankle bone,
The ankle bone’s connected to the leg bone,
The leg bone’s connected to the knee bone,
The knee bone’s connected to the thigh bone,
The thigh bone’s connected to the hip bone,
The hip bone’s connected to the BACK BONE,
The BACK BONE’S connected to the shoulder bone,
The shoulder bone’s connected to the neck bone,
The neck bone’s connected to the head bone…..

Without your back bones all your other bones would fall apart 😉
