The 2012-end-of-the-world idea comes from the fact that calendars of the south american pre-colombian civilization ended in that year. But we have no idea why their calendars only go that far – may be they just got a bit tired of making calculations and stopped there… 😉

Nostradomus also predicted the end of the world and was wrong, so I’m hoping the Mayans were also wrong!
