      Hi there,

Of course – there are days more difficult than others, and sometimes I can feel pretty rubbish (with nothing working, papers rejected, terrible comments on my work etc etc). But then it always get better 😉

To be honest, yes… Sometimes you put a lot of effort into something and then people around don’t seem to realise it… it makes you feel a bit unappreciated.

But most of the times, I think people around me value me and my work 😉

I don’t think so…..there have been times when i’ve probably been a bit sensitive to someone’s comments and perhaps taken it the wrong way but it would never have been because someone was intentionally trying to devalue me. I think if someone tries to devalue you then it is probably because they want to make themselves look better , so if it has happened to you, it’s probably more out of jealousy than anything else.

Not to any great extent. But then you have to remember you are the only person who can control how you feel. So if you have enough respect for yourself you should never feel devalued!

Yes, I think everyone feels like that from time to time. In particular, I had a previous job where I worked really hard and got alot done, but it was never appreciated and my boss’s were always expecting more. It defintely made me feel of little value. Fortunately, I work with great people now who always appreciate the work I’m doing and don’t expect unrealistic progress 🙂
