Oooff, this is a controversial one. Well firstly, I’ve never done any animal testing or worked anywhere that has done any animal testing so I’m certainly not an expert. And, I don’t honestly know to what extent animal testing is still used – a lot i imagine.

I definitly don’t like the idea of animal testing and certainly for anything that is unnessecary for our human wellbeing then we shouldn’t be testing on animals (i.e. cosmetics, fertilizers, weapons, etc). I never buy cosmetics that are tested on animals.

Medicines however, are a much more debatable use of animal testing. I still don’t like the idea of it but I’m sure that i (or people that i love) have had medical treatments over my lifetime which have been tested on animals. I’d certainly like to think that companies are looking for alternatives to animal testing and i hope one day that it is fully outlawed but in the meantime do we remove all the drugs in the world that have been tested on animals? What kind of impact would that have on world health?

I love all animals and the thought of testing on them is not a comfortable thought at all, but there may be some circumstances where we have all used products that have been tested on animals without knowing so i’d be a hypocrite to say i am absolutely against it.
