The sperm goes into the egg – both have 1/2 of the dna to make a person. Once combined, the egg (which is basically a cell) divides to form 2 cells, which divide to form 4 cells and so on making a large cluster of cells. Some of these cells can change slightly (have different dna activated) to become e.g. organ cells or muscle cells and so on. These cells continue to divide and organs, blood vessels, muscle tissue, skin, etc. is formed into a fetus. There’s a whole bunch of biology involved in the types of cell divisions and so on but this is the basic idea!
