• Question: I know teleportation is a reality, because some scientists teleported a beam of light, but how many years do you think the teleportation of humans will be a reality?

I think teleporting something as complex as a human being raises lots of technical difficulties – far more than teleporting a beam of light. It’s not only the physical laws that we need to consider, but do we know enough of the biological complexity of a human being to take into consideration all aspects of such a technology? I think there is still a lot to be learned before we can realistically expect it.

Anyway, I’ll be waiting in line as eagerly as you! 😉

I so wish I could see that – this was and still is my first choice as a super-power, if I could get one :)To be honest, I doubt this will ever be possible – but who knows!

Let’s hope it’s soon because the Portugal match starts in less than an hour and i’ll never be home in time 😉

Well lets first understand teleportation. Teleportation operates through quantum entangled particles. This is two particles that are the exact same in every way, what was proposed and proved is that if we get these entangled particles they have this bond where what you change on one of the particles will immediately effect the other. So we take one of these entangled particles and place it elsewhere, say at home, and the first particle is at your work. You wish to transmit energy home. To do this we feed the energy into the first particle which changes to include this energy in it, this change is immediatley changing the particle at home. By placing particles around the quantum entangled particle, we can use them like a blank disc, they can absorb this energy and have therefore teleported to your home. The ones at work are now destroyed in a sense. They no longer exist. So as you know it can be done, it would depend on the complexity of the human structure and how easy it is to map this information particle by particle to other particles. So I do imagine a more years may need to go by. But it sounds like the teleportation process is to clone ourself in a different place in an instant and destroy the original copy?! So do we really want to do that to ourselves? Oh I should mention that to clone us they would most likely digitise our person into a digital or analgue stream that can be sent through the entangled particles and the information is past ot the blanki particles that recreate us. Information can be passed through these particles without degration in the signal.

Let’s see…what year was Star Trek based in? B/c they had teleporting down to a fine art! lol
I think it will be decades at the very least before teleporting live matter will be possible….It would really improve my daily journey to woth tho! 😉
