      Hi there,

      it’s a theory which has gained a lot of support over the years – based on the current set of evidence, seems like there was a big bang 😉

      The big bang is a theory of how the universe started and, so far as we can understand it at the moment, it’s the best explanation that fits all the data we have. 😉

      Most scientists think that the big bang is real and there proof it exists but there are still skeptics as well.

      It is still just a theory. It has not been proven 100% yet and I doubt if we ever will.

      Well nobody can say for sure whether it is 100% true or not as it is just a theory but there’s certainly a lot of evidence to suggest that it happened so i would say it’s as close to being real as it gets without being able to completely prove it!

    There is masses of evidence that the Universe is accelerating away from us in all directions, and if you played this back in time then the Universe must have had a common point.

    There is a famous experiment called WMAP which was a satellite orbiting the Earth. It took a picture of the sky in microwave wavelengths which gave a picture of the Universe around 300,000 years after the Big Bang was predicted to have happened. This picture clearly shows that at some point in the very distant past everything in the Universe was connected. This tells us that everything in the Universe, including the Space we move in and time we grow old in, came from a common point.
