      Hi Donpareis

There are several kinds of radiation. Physicists define as the process of energy travelling through space and is absorbed by another body.

The kind of radiation you’re probably talking about is ionizing radiation, like the one in nuclear weapons and radioactive substances. It basically is the energy some substances emit and that has a special energy that can cause ionization in other substances. Ionization basically means a change in the energy state of a particular atom.

Radiation can be dangerous because that ionization in our bodies can lead to mutations in the DNA and that can cause cancer and other problems.
