• Question: why is there only girls and boys aint they and other sex ???

      Very good question! It’s a mystery – but have a read through this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/specials/sheffield_99/447058.stm. Many theories as to why there is only two sexes – this links details one, linked to a bacterial infection our ancestors would have caught about two billion years ago… 😉

      very interesting question, Sintesha… In theory, there’s no particular reason… But we are diploid organisms, has all mammals are. That means we have an even number chromossomes. It also means our sexual cells have 1/2 of the total number of chromossomes so when you get a mixture, you get half from each parent. That means 2 sexes is enough…

      Not sure if that completely explains it, though… hope it helped anyway 😉
